Apologies for my absence, been rather busy of late, so now it’s time to catch up from where I left off…..
On our way home from the Cliffs of Moher, we stopped at Dunguaire Castle, which is just outside a little town called Kinvara in County Galway. Apparently this castle was built in the early 16th century but has been restored to welcome visitors in the summer. It was a beautiful place, and we caught it at the right time as the sun was just starting to set. The castle itself was closed so we could only walk around the outside, but with the beautiful surroundings, that was enough for me.
It was so peaceful and I would have been happy to sit there and watch the sun set completely, but we still had a few hours drive ahead of us so it wasn’t practical to do so.
There was suddenly a slight breeze which created ripples and I loved the elongated pattern of the setting sun on the water.
As I was sat beside the lake a swan appeared. It didn’t stay for long before it disappeared into the sunset.
And as the sun and swan disappeared, so did we, homeward bound. A lovely end to a perfect day.
